Bates College is widely regarded as one of the finest U.S. liberal arts colleges.
Alumni frequently cite the capacities they developed at Bates for critical assessment, analysis, expression, aesthetic sensibility and independent thought.
Bates was founded in 1855 by Maine abolitionists, and Bates graduates have always included men and women from diverse racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
Bates' Web Communications staff, students, and colleagues are envisioning, architecting, and building next-generation Web experiences.
Our vision: all online media (Web, email, text, mobile) should deepen connections between members of the College's many communities.
We are grateful for our colleagues in Communications and Media Relations where we work and thrive.

Enhancing Bates official Web content
The official Web sites of Bates’ academic departments and administrative offices are important to both visitors and current members of the College community since they contain a range of targeted content — persuasive, informational, procedural — about Bates people, places, ideas, and events.
