Focus on WordPress MU support

At the end of a rapid (5-week) formal evaluation of Drupal and WordPress MU, I recommended that MU be the content platform of choice for our official site renovation project, the Web Hub. As part of our new Web Hub program — and in previous discovery projects (2008 | 2007) — I’ve been evaluating open-source content management software. Our two finalists are Drupal and Wordpress MU.

Site inventory version 1.0

Thanks to the stellar work of our colleagues (especially Ted Coulombe) and our student assistants (Nelson Harris and Bradley McGraw), we now have a near-complete inventory of Web sites on Bates’ multiple public Web servers. Now that we have received permission to lead the effort to renovate Bates’ official Web sites, we are working on three parallel tracks. Read More »
