A sign of things to come

One of my professional heros, Jim Groom, aka edupunk, has written about the upcoming WordPress University event on April 8. More campuses are exploring and hacking on open source applications like WordPress to start re-imagining the social implications of web-based communities for publishing, research, teaching, and learning.

Measuring engagement: first impressions

We’ve only gathered two weeks of integrated data for our new home site — and we’re still fine-tuning, so caveat emptor — but already we can see some interesting trends on our two primary subdomains, www.bates.edu (home page and subsites) and home.bates.edu (the top levels and news site).
